Which Trim Level is Right for You?

Ever since its original debut, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been a beloved SUV within the Jeep heritage brand. This is due to its iconic design, athletic spirit, and off-road prowess. The Grand Cherokee also excels in offering a wide range of different trim levels and features, which means it appeals to a wide array of different drivers’ needs. The 2022 model year is bringing you even more of what you love, including a revised design both inside and out that brings more luxury, style, and convenience to the forefront. The Grand Cherokee has preserved its legendary Trailhawk trim, which bears the Jeep Trail Rated badge, signifying its capabilities. There are also two potent engine options available, a 3.6-liter V6 and a 5.7-liter V8, which supply the Grand Cherokee with plentiful horsepower and torque. When properly equipped, the Grand Cherokee can also tow up to 7,200 pounds. To learn more about what the 2022 Grand Cherokee lineup has to offer, keep reading!

The Laredo is the base trim level for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but rest assured that it’s anything but basic! The Laredo features the new front fascia design with a streamlined take on the seven-slot grille. It also includes LED fixtures for the headlights, tail lights, and fog lights. The Laredo features standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, ParkSense rear parking assist, and active lane management. It also features the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an 8.4-inch touchscreen display.

The Limited trim is up next, and it includes some notable additions to the standard features set forth by the Laredo. For starters, while the Laredo features cloth upholstery, the Limited is clad in soft Capri leather. It also features heated seats in both the front and rear rows, which adds some extra comfort, as well as a luxurious and accommodating feel. The Limited features the same Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and also features a premium 6-speaker sound system with active noise cancellation, providing a high-quality sound without any interference from excess road noise. Last but not least, a heated steering wheel finishes off the Limited’s interior, in keeping with its overall ambiance of comfort and convenience.

If you’re a fan of off-road adventures, and want to experience the freedom of moving seamlessly from the paved roads to the wooded trails, then the Trailhawk is the Grand Cherokee model for you! The Trailhawk has some additional off-roading equipment that enhances its capability, such as steel underbody skid plates, and the signature red-painted tow hooks found on many Jeep vehicles. The hood has a black and red Trailhawk hood decal which adds a bold and sporty look, and it also comes with standard 4-wheel drive featuring the Quadra-Trac II 4X4 system with a rear electronic slip differential. The Trailhawk also comes with Quadra-Lift Air Suspension, which helps it maintain stability, as well as adding to its ground clearance, and water-fording abilities.

  • Trailhawk Hood Decal
  • Quadra-Drive II System

The Overland trim level retains some of the athleticism of the Trailhawk, without being a full-blown off-roading machine. It also pulls in some of the more luxurious features of the Grand Cherokee lineup, making it the best of both worlds in terms of style and strength. For example, the Overland uses the same Quadra-Lift Air Suspension System, for a maximum ground clearance of 10.9 inches. It also includes a hands-free power liftgate, so loading and unloading the rear cargo area for a weekend getaway is as simple as tapping your foot. The Overland sits atop 20-inch wheels which lend it a sturdy and commanding road presence, and it offers a dual-pane panoramic sunroof as an available option.

The final trim level, the Summit, is the most luxurious model of the core lineup. There’s also an additional sub-trim called the Summit Reserve that really maximizes the premium features. One of the most notable additions to the Summit is its advanced safety features, including drowsy driver detection, night vision, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. Also, its Uconnect system includes integrated navigation, as well as a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen. The Summit’s front seats are 16-way power-adjustable, and also feature memory and massage features. The Summit Reserve includes some upgrades like premium Palermo leather, and a luxury 19-speaker McIntosh sound system.
