Get Your Brakes Checked

July 17th, 2018 by

It’s that time of year again when we like to remind our customers about some of the easiest ways to promote safe driving and proper vehicle maintenance. One aspect of keeping your vehicle safe and running smooth that is often overlooked is brake service, so don’t miss out on our quick tips below.

At our Chrysler service center, we can evaluate your brakes and brake pads and let you know if they are in need of service or replacement. A good way to remember to check your brakes is to simply ask the professionals for a quick evaluation when you get an oil change or other routine service every few months.

While the lifespan of brake pads can range from 25,000 to 70,000 miles, the best rule of thumb is pads worn to ¼ inch or less should be replaced. Also, you may need your brakes checked if there’s a delay or difficulty braking, if your brakes make a noticable growling, screech, or vibration, or if your vehicle pulls to one side when braking.

Taking care of brake service isn’t the most costly repair ever, but it can do a lot to help you drive more safely. Having properly functioning brakes is paramount to vehicle safety in general, but especially when it comes to travelling in inclement weather, or if you are involved in an accident.

As your Pinckney Chrysler dealership, we want to make sure you get your brakes taken care of and that it doesn’t break the bank. Call or visit our website to make an appointment at our dealership near Ann Arbor today. We look forward to helping with all of your vehicle service needs.
