2022 Jeep Wrangler vs 2022 Ford Bronco Pinckney MI
2022 Jeep Wrangler vs Ford Bronco
If you’re a big fan of off-roading, there are only two vehicles you need to see! Both the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco come with powerful engine options and a multitude of off-road equipment, but did you also know that the interiors of these two vehicles are filled with tech and luxury items? It’s true! While either one of these vehicles would make a tremendous addition to your driveway, there is one that has a significant advantage over the other. To find out which one comes out on top, check out our complete comparison below!
Power of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler
Five impeccable engines are available for the Wrangler, and each one is robust and comes with a ton of power! The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that rips out a massive 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque which you can pair with either a six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed automatic, depending on your preference! From here, several options are available. The first is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that will get you 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque; the second is the uber-powerful 6.4-liter V8 that gets you a spectacular pavement-pounding 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque which you can get on the Rubicon. Want a diesel engine? The Wrangler is happy to oblige with a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel with 260 horses and 442 lb-ft of torque. Don’t go away; there’s more! The final engine is a hybrid known as the 4xe, which takes the turbocharged four-cylinder and adds several hybrid elements, including a battery pack and two electric motors to get you 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque!
Power of the 2022 Ford Bronco
Unfortunately, only two engine options are available for the Bronco, and the power numbers struggle to compete with what the Wrangler offers. The first couple of trims of the Bronco come with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. On the Badlands trims, the Bronco ups its game a little bit with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder delivering 250 horses and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel-drive comes standard. There is no diesel or hybrid option for the Bronco, which is to its detriment. So if you want the premium off-road experience, you will want to go with the Bronco!
Features of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler
With the Wrangler’s four trim options, you will get an astonishing amount of luxury, tech, and off-road equipment. The Sport is the base level trim which comes with foglights, tow hooks, skid plates, 17-inch steel wheels, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Sport S builds on this with alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and air conditioning. Want your Wrangler to come with a lot of luxury? Then check out the four-door Sahara trim, which has a body-colored grille and fender flairs, 18-inch wheels, a full-time four-wheel drive, and automatic climate control. Meanwhile, the off-road fans will love the Rubicon trim as it brings you tons of spectacular off-road equipment such as 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, heavy-duty front and rear axles, locking front and rear differentials, and rock rails. Not enough for you? The Rubicon has a 392 version with high-performance electronic brakes, a 2-inch suspension lift, Fox shock absorbers, LED headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and an upgraded infotainment system.
Features of the 2022 Ford Bronco
The 2022 Ford Bronco has a few interesting features as well. Starting with the base trim, you get 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry/ignition, remote start/lock/unlock, cloth upholstery, power windows, tow hooks, and air conditioning. There is also some tech with the base trim, such as an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. If you’re looking for some premium features, then you have no choice but to go with the higher trims, which will get you some advanced items such as heavy-duty powder-coated bumpers, underbody bash plates, 17-inch steel wheels wearing 32-inch all-terrain tires, vinyl seating, rubberized flooring, drain plugs, auxiliary switches, heated/cloth-covered front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a self-dimming rearview mirror. The off-road items are scarce but include a heavier-duty suspension setup with a disconnecting front anti-roll bar and a Baja mode for terrain management.
