What engines are available?
There are four engine options for the Grand Cherokee, and each one of them is very powerful and capable! Starting things off is the 3.6-liter V6 engine which comes standard on all models except the Trackhawk and the SRT. It delivers a respectable 295 horsepower and gives 260 lb-ft of torque! Next up is the 5.7-liter V8 engine that boasts an incredible 360 horsepower, and gives 390 lb-ft of torque! This engine is optional only for the Trailhawk, Overland, and Summit models! Next up, and second, to last is the 6.4-liter V8engine which is standard on the Grand Cherokee SRT. This engine is incredibly strong and pushes out 470 horses and 475 lb-ft of torque! This brings us to the last engine option, and the strongest and most capable of all the Grand Cherokee engine options. Coming standard on the Trackhawk is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that boasts a powerful 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque! The Trackhawk of course was made to be equipped for off-roading and performance which is why this supercharged engine is found standard only under this model’s hood.
Can you tell me a little about the different trims?
Of course! All Grand Cherokees, regardless of engine choice, are working with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Starting off the lineup is the Laredo which comes with standard features like 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition and entry, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen that is compatible with Apple and Android, and is connected to a six-speaker audio system. Safety features include system Rear cross-traffic alert, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear parking sensors. Next up is the Limited which builds on the Laredo with a sunroof, leather upholstery, power liftgate, heated front seats that are also power-adjustable, a heated steering wheel, and an upgraded touchscreen at 8.4-inches. Next up we have the Trailhawk which is off-road ready, with additions like an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, underbody skid plates, air suspension made for off-roading, all-terrain drive modes, an upgraded 4WD system, and a luxurious leather and suede seating upgrade. Sitting in the middle of the pack we have the Overland, which is just as off-road ready as the Trailhawk but with a few slight luxuries such as 20-inch wheels, full leather seating, a power-adjustable steering column, and Xenon headlights. Getting closer to the top of the pack we have the Summit, which seems to go above and beyond the call for luxury with an incredible 19-speaker audio system, upgraded leather seating, and a chrome trim on the exterior. It also adds to the safety suite with features like Adaptive cruise control, Forward collision mitigation, Parallel parking assist, and Lane departure warning The second to last trim available for the 2021 Grand Cherokee is the SRT which, as mentioned above, comes with the V8 470 horsepower engine. It is also equipped with 20-inch aluminum wheels and performance tires, a sport-tuned adaptive suspension, sport front seats, and finally a high-performance braking system. Last but never least in the Grand Cherokee lineup is the Trackhawk. This beast runs off an engine that delivers 707 horses and takes the SRT to the next level by upgrading the braking system, the sport-exhaust, the performance suspension, and even the wheels, which are 20-inch black-painted and aluminum.
