Can you tell me about the Gladiator’s engine options?
There are two impressive engines available for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. All trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that kicks out an astounding 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. These power numbers are undoubtedly some of the best in the class, and they get even better with the new 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which brings you 260 horsepower and an outstanding 442 lb-ft of torque. The V6 comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but you can opt for an eight-speed automatic transmission if you like. Meanwhile. the diesel engine pairs exclusively with the eight-speed automatic. The towing and hauling numbers are also impressive for the Gladiator as it can tow 7,650 pounds with a payload capacity of 1,700 pounds.
Talk to me about the features of the Gladiator
You got it! There are four trim levels available for the Gladiator, and each comes with an amazing amount of luxury, tech, and off-road features. Starting things out is the Sport, which brings cruise control, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an eight-speaker audio system, and a 5-inch central display with voice control capability. Also standard is a soft folding top, removable doors, and a fold-down front windshield. Several sub-trims are available for the Sport, which includes Sport S, the Willy’s, and the 80th Anniversary Edition, which add several interior updates and tech. Next is the Overland which brings you automatic headlights, power windows, heated power mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 7-inch central display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Looking to head off-road? We highly recommend the Rubicon trim as it comes with a 4.10 rear axle ratio, 33-inch all-terrain tires, fenders with increased clearance, FOX shock absorbers, locking front and rear differentials, and body-protecting rock rails and skid plates. Last, is the desert rated Mojave trim, which rounds things out with a reinforced frame, FOX internal bypass shock absorbers, and Desert Rated badge.
What can you say about the Gladiators safety features?
All Jeep vehicles come with an amazing amount of power, but there are also quite a few safety features. Available is a Forward Mitigation System, which will warn the driver of an impending collision and can apply the brakes in certain situations. Also available is an Adaptive Cruise Control system, which allows the driver of the Gladiator to maintain a pre-set distance between the massive pickup and the traffic in front of it. The last system we will talk about is the Blind Spot Monitoring System which will monitor the areas around the Gladiator and let you know when another vehicle is traveling in your lane.
