2021 Jeep Compass vs Ford Bronco Sport Pinckney MI
2021 Jeep Compass vs Ford Bronco Sport
It’s an exciting time for Ford! They have brought back their signature Bronco and with it comes the Bronco Sport! The Bronco Sport is more than just a smaller version of the Sport; it comes with powerful engines, wonderful features, and some terrific off-road prowess. While there is a lot to love about the Ford Bronco Sport, it will have a lot to love up to if it’s going to complete with the 2021 Jeep Compass. The Compass is back in 2021 and comes with a terrific engine and some wonderful features in its own right. There is a lot to love about both of these SUVs, but which one has the edge? For the answer, continue reading as we compare both of these SUVs!
2021 Jeep Compass Power & Handling
All versions of the Jeep Compass come with a solid 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes an impressive 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes standard with front-wheel-drive, with all-wheel-drive being an available option on all Compass versions except the Trailahawk. On the Trailahwk, you get all-wheel-drive standard. What type of transmission you get depends on whether you go with the front-wheel or all-wheel drive. If you go with front-wheel-drive, you get a six-speed automatic transmission, while those with all-wheel-drive get a nine-speed automatic. You’re never short of power and options with the 2021 Jeep Compass!
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Power & Handling
There are two engine options available for the Ford Bronco Sport, with the first being a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that gets you 181 horsepower and comes with all-wheel-drive and eight-speed automatic transmission. The other option, which is only available for the off-road-oriented Badlands and First Edition, is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which pairs with the same eight-speed automatic transmission and a more off-road oriented all-wheel-drive system. While these power numbers are sufficient, we do wish there were more transmission options.
2021 Jeep Compass Features & Design
There are four trim levels available for the Jeep Compass, and each comes with a large number of tech, luxury, and off-road features. Starting things out is the base Sport, which has automatic dual-zone climate control, steel wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen with USB ports, a six-speaker sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Adding to this is the Latitude, which comes with alloy wheels, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry and ignition, automatic headlights, and foglights. The most luxury items are available for the Limited as it has a remote engine start, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. If you’re looking for off-road equipment, there is the Trailhawk trim, which rounds things out with off-road-oriented tires, a raised suspension, underbody skid plates, and tow hooks.
2021 Ford Bronco Sport Features & Design
There is a ton of tech available for the Ford Bronco Sport as all trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen and the latest version of the Ford Sync system, which comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get the latest version of the Ford Co-Pilot360 system, which gives you some advanced safety features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, and lane-keeping assist. In addition to its tech and safety, there are some off-road features such as traction controls, extra powertrain coolers, some unique suspension upgrades, and all-terrain tires. We like many of the features that the Bronco Sport has, but the Compass offers you more!
While there is a lot to like about the Bronco Sport, it doesn’t compete with what the Compass offers! We love the Compasses engine and the outstanding off-road features it has over what the Bronco Sport offers. Want to take a test drive of the Jeep Compass?
