This engine is equipped with front-wheel drive. The second engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder that creates 166 horsepower and 149 pound-feet of torque, outfitted with all-wheel drive. Ford pairs both engines with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers have four Compass trim levels to choose from in the 2021 model year. Ford offers the EcoSport in four trim levels. The entry-level S model comes equipped with features like Bluetooth, alloy wheels, a rearview camera, cruise control, automatic headlights, a 6-speaker sound system, a 4.2-inch central display screen, two USB ports, and an adjustable steering wheel. The upper trims, the SE, SES, and Titanium, add features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking sensors, fog lights, rear parking sensors, Apple and Android smartphone integration, an 8-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and 17-inch wheels.
