What engines can I choose from?
Our first stop in giving you the latest information about the 2021 Jeep Cherokee is to discuss the engine lineup. These engines give you the ability to go off-roading, or just take those long trips that you’ve been putting off with a less reliable vehicle. The base trim with the Cherokee is a 2.4-liter inline-4, which creates 171 pound-feet of torque and 180 horsepower. Throughout the lineup, both FWD and AWD are available. The next engine that we’re looking at is the 3.2-liter V6, where you can get 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque. The very last engine that we are introducing you to is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. With this engine, you can get up to 295 pound-feet of torque and around 270 horsepower. Every mentioned engine gets a nine-speed automatic transmission!
Can you tell me about the features?
After having a closer look at the engine lineup, you can already tell that Jeep has put a lot of time into crafting the perfect SUV. That’s why it should surprise no one that the Cherokee gets a great trim lineup, too. The base trim, Latitude, comes in with heated side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and cruise control. The Latitude Plus trim continues this trend with remote start, keyless entry and ignition, a wiper de-icer, cloth and vinyl upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and satellite radio. And, if Latitude Plus isn’t enough, then Limited should satisfy. This trim adds leather upholstery, a powered tailgate, parallel and perpendicular parking assistance, dual-zone automatic climate control, and driver’s side memory settings.
What does the Cherokee have for safety?
We are on to safety! When you are buying a vehicle that you know your passengers will be riding around in often, you want to make sure that you get something that you have full confidence in. Jeep has ensured that no matter the trim, the Cherokee is here for your peace of mind. That’s why you’ll find features like a rearview monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. You can even add the Advanced Safety Group package, which gets you automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing wipers, lane-departure warning, and full-speed forward-collision mitigation.
